BIMA Award – Excellence for Women

Women are the twin halves of our society. They are our mothers, wives, teachers and activists. It is important the community does not overlook the imperative roles women play in British society. This award recognises a Mosque or institution for projects that start new services or expand existing services targeted at female worshippers in the local community.

BIMA Award – Excellence for Youth

Youth are the future leaders of the community and youth work and engagement is vital. Youth need to be nurtured and cultivated and it is the duty of the community not to ignore this vital section of our society. This award is presented to the Mosque or institution for projects specifically delivered to engage young people aged 8-24 years old and foster their relationship with the mosque.

BIMA Award – Excellence for New Muslims

Mosques and institutions should be aware that new Muslims face significant challenges. All Mosques and institutions should support the inclusion and integration of new Muslims and ensure that they are comfortable in their new way of life. This award goes to the Mosque or institution for projects that start new services or expand existing services targeted at New Muslims or Converts in the local community.

BIMA Award – Excellence in Outreach

Community cohesion is about creating harmony and tolerance between people from different backgrounds living within one community. Every member of society must play a part in promoting community engagement, tolerance and togetherness. This award goes to the Mosque or institution for projects that build impactful, strategic or sustainable relationships with organisations and groups in the wider local civic society.

BIMA Award – Excellence in Education

Young children must be nurtured and cherished and taught the values and traditions that we, as adults, hold dear. Mosques and other institutions can have an enormously positive effect on our children and they have a fundamental role to play in their early development. This award goes to the Mosque or institution for projects displaying creativity, originality or excellence in the delivery of schooling, classes or other educational issues.

BIMA Award – Excellence in Facilities Management

To ensure consistency, reliability and sustainability, it’s important for Mosques and institutions to deliver projects accordingly. This award goes to the Mosque or institution for projects displaying innovation, safety, sustainability or accessibility.
